Overview

The FACE Mental Capacity and DoLS Assessment Toolset (MCA) guides professionals through the process of making a mental capacity decision. It ensures that they meet the requirements of the Act and provides the tool for recording this information. It covers all areas of consideration as recommended by the MCA Code of Practice.

It has been developed in consultation with CSIP WM Regional lead on mental health legislation and the Mental Capacity Act.

FACE Assessment Toolsets are a product of over 20 years' development work involving hundreds of practitioners, service users and carers. They are designed to meet key clinical, management and national requirements.

They are also updated regularly with the involvement of our professional user network. We are constantly seeking to both improve existing tools and design new tools to meet emerging needs.
